The current Tax Regime in India is not only regressive and complicated, but also more often than not it is punitive in nature. The flow of economy is too wild to tame. The contract between macro-economy and the micro-economy has been corrupted and its integrity is widely compromised. The resultant politics is confused further trying to derail the economy. To hide the shame and failure of public structure, the state and system in place, keeps blaming each other or in the end they together share the blame and sacrifice it to some
imaginary power using religion and lack of education as their tools and weapon. The plight of common man has never been so naked and abused. The agreement between legislation, administration and public has been violated. As a result, all the pillars of democracy has been deprived of their social foundation. The idea of growth and sustainable development has become a fiction. The desire of affluence has turned into an illusion. These are indeed dark hours in pages of human history.
For affluence, economy serves as the base, the foundation on which pillars of democracy are laid, sustained and help them flourish into various institutions that sustain life in general as well as in particular. That's the job of economy in any human civilisation. No golden age of historical kingdoms has been laid on weak and pauper economy. The current economy is still based on the structure laid and in 1947, during the process of framing the constitution of our newly independent nation. The trickle down theory is still in practice. The lion's share of national income directly goes to centre, some to state government and hardly to the local government. The wards and panchayats doesn't gets enough income source to grow, develop or even sustains the life within. The base where life thrives and prosper is deprived of economic prosperity systematically and dramatically. I have already tried to enumerated the misery of a common man in current democracy. I now wish to more forward towards drafting hypothetical solutions.
Before a solution is imagined, drafted and executed, we can never know that it actually works.
